Just create a new/separate/clone monitor in ZM for the low res record. Keep the original low res at modetect.
In this way you won't have to wade through your constant recordings to see events.

Re: Adding a monitor on a new build
If the cameras are onvif capable, I'd put them on your main network "temporarily" to be discovered by ZM's ONVIF discovery. Then just change the ip address when you move them back to your camera network.

Re: h264 passthrough hikvision audio
Update - Initial Success Upgraded to zoneminder_1.32.2~20181129142911-bionic_amd64.deb (soon to be known as 1.32.3 I think) from the master repo. I am getting audio from my Hikvision cams now w/o any ffmpeg parameters in the source tab or storage tab. I also removed the values from the Max FPS and A...

I used to use it but have converted to utilizing the new Web Site type monitor to access the cameras controls directly. Looks like this. Re: h264 passthrough hikvision audio
Further Update: Getting closer.... In the Options field on the Source tab, I replaced the allowed_media_types=video with -ar 8000 It started recording audio, HOWEVER, the recorded video was all jacked up and didn't quit seem to be in sync with the video. "Jacked up" means strange compressi...

A little extra info would help. OS/stack/zm version/install method But to attempt to answer your questions: But it is recording an event for ~10 minutes... every 10 minutes, in Mocord. I do want to record 24x7 but please tell me this isn't a workaround to do that? I only installed it today and alrea...

Re: The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported
I'll add to this issue. I'm running UB18.04 ZM1.32.2 FreeNAS event storage over NFS. My events are recorded as H264 passthrough triggered (Nodetect) by low res stream on modetect. The actual video files are not in the event directory. The snapshot and thumbnail are though. It doesn't happen all the ...

@api
I've yet to figure this one out.
Do you mind sharing how you got ZM to work on ngnix?Full config (ZM web interface is fully operational with this one, only api throws errors):

I've seen it to, but only on h264 recordings.
The old MJPEG work as they did.

Re: Event record stops forced
Did you try shorter events?
I stick to 10 mins (600) on my continuous record.
30 mins seems like a really big recording to have to manage.

Re: Modect-Nodect slow to start linked recordings
This actually sounds like a buffer issue.
If you're hires stream is running at a higher frame rate (that's the way I run it) you will need to adjust your pre-event buffers accordingly.
5 seconds at 4fps are 12 pre-event frames.
5 seconds at 10fps are 50 pre-event frames.

Re: X-FRAME-OPTIONS and Web Type Monitors
So Asker kicked in on Slack and got me down the path of a reverse proxy. Note, this reverse proxy method is not working but because of my non-guru status when it comes to Apache, I thought I'd share and see if someone could fill in the blanks or suggest a better way to do it. After a2enmod'ing proxy...
