Alarm Recording fps
I have an H264 IP cam set at 15 fps using ffmpeg as an input. When viewing the cam as a monitor in jpeg mode ZM shows 15 fps. With ZM set as Modect, I only get 7.5 to maybe 10 fps on recordings. I noticed this after reviewing recordings that didn't look like 15 fps. The hardware is overkill with one...

Add Events Hard Drive
This has been covered and worn out I know. I do it on every Zoneminder I install. But just noticed that on Ubuntu 1.28.0 with the github install there is a events simlink in /usr/share/zoneminder pointing to /var/cache/zoneminder/events. So, should I link an events folder located in my /mnt/ZM to /v...

Re: Zoneminder for commerical system
This is off topic so I shouldn't even post this but couldn't resist. I ran a security CO for years. Once in a while I would get a call to take over or repair a camera system installed by a licensed CO. This was years ago so none of them were worth a #$% but I repaired what they had. Got tired of the...

Re: How to pull rtsp stream from one server to another
Not sure of the question but let me try. 1st thing, All of the remote streams are on ZM vers 1.25.0 I did a quick test on 1.28 to see if it still works but no long term testing on 1.28. All I know for sure is it does work. My remote cameras are set as ffmpeg source type. It really doesn't matter wha...

Re: How to pull rtsp stream from one server to another
I've had them running for months with no issues.
Some between cities, some between ZM boxes on
the same LAN, and some looped back on the same server.
The only difference I've seen is when you restart ZM it takes
longer to reacquire the stream than a standard IP cam, but only a few seconds.

Re: How to pull rtsp stream from one server to another
I just gave it a try on a new server built from source 1.28.0 from a github clone. It didn't work with the connkey and auth section, like it did with 1.25.0 just change the section after & format=asf which might look like this >>&auth=22d2251df52d2edd6b86df8e733e9153&connkey=5767..... to...

Re: How to pull rtsp stream from one server to another
Using the preset "remote zoneminder" you will get jpegs. not what you want.

Re: How to pull rtsp stream from one server to another
Reading your post again, the reason you mentioned for this is also one of my reasons for
doing it. It works and gives you control like the setup on an IP cam would.
It's not h264 with a 75% reduction in bandwith but it works. And it's much better
than jpegs. LOL

Re: How to pull rtsp stream from one server to another
I guess you could call it an ugly hack but you can pull mpeg streams from a different ZM box. Not an rstp stream but you can set the bandwidth and size. look at this stream as input to an ffmpeg monitor source. http://192.168.5.244/cgi-bin/nph-zms?mode=mpeg&monitor=6&scale=75&bitrate=120...

Re: Event playback too fast
Not sure why there are not any posts about this problem. With the large file size of todays IP cams it doesn't make sense to stream jpeg files when you can set the stream rate when using asf / mpeg. Installing with the ppa from github always gave me the approx' 10Xs play back on events. After diggin...

Re: Can you connect to a camera on different network?
You can configure Zoneminder to generate videos and upload them to a remote site.
Do some searches of the forum. Look at the filter pop-up.

Re: Can you connect to a camera on different network?
You can set Zoneminder to create video clips and upload them to a remote server / PC. This software will do what you want, however you'll want to get a computer tech' with linux experience. Otherwise you'll pay him through a learning experience. As far as the video is concerned, Playing large video ...
