Re: Strange error after upgrading to 1.36.31
I usually start with zmupdate.pl -f and zmupdate.pl.

Probably not. But you can test it.

Either follow the instructions above, or wait for a new version with the fix.

I don’t think it’s that bad. Stick with my initial advice if you are concerned. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Re: IP Camera that doesn't require app for setup
If I’m unsure I search for brand and RTSP. If you can find the details of an RTSP connection and possibly credentials then it’ll likely work ok.

Loads. Hikvision or the many clones are fine. Lots of other brands you’ll find mentioned on here.

Re: Released 1.36.27 The Memory Remains
I seem to have zmwatch.pl trouble - zmdc[2577884]: ERR ['zmwatch.pl' exited abnormally, exit status 9] When I manually run it Global symbol "$Monitor" requires explicit package name (did you forget to declare "my $Monitor"?) at /usr/bin/zmwatch.pl line 115. Execution of /usr/bin/...

Re: Get latest Frame (jpg) from camera?
ZMU is part of the ZM install. Run zmu -h for some clues. You'd usually specify monitor number, user and password.

Have a look at zmu to grab a frame.

Re: Zoneminder failing to install on Linux Mint 20.3
I'd suggest running the zmupdate.pl by hand. Start with a -f to freshen up the config. Could be worth trying the command with a more privileged DB user (-u -p).

There was discussion about this in the ZM Slack channel I think. Would be worth posting there. Although they might have moved to Discord by now.

Impossible to say.
What was the output of the command?
Have you tried the install instructions above?

Re: Excess logging
If you are not on 1.36.26 it would be worth trying. There have been a couple of fixes for that keyframe error (error).
I don't log anything to DB or even much to files, so I don't get hit in the same way.

Re: Instruction/recomendations for upgrade from 21.04 to 22.04.1 Ubuntu?
I see what you mean now. You're not on the LTS version and yes, you'll be unsupported. Sorry, I misunderstood.
Looks like you have to get to 22.04.
There might be some pain, but it's a good chance to learn.
