Re: Configured for X Bandwidth

reviving an older thread for a few moments... How can you configure zoneminder to ALWAYS default to High bandwidth? Every time I access it, I have to switch the profile to high manually with the dropdown menu on the main page, otherwise my monitors or playback streams are all choppy. I dont see the ...

Re: Send emails if camera fails/goes offline?

"Good idea to submit a request here: https://github.com/ZoneMinder/ZoneMinde ... state=open" I did just before tyou replied! Talk about a good timing! EDIT: Actually, I cannot find my ticket. Either it is being reviewed for approval by an admin, or the crappy IE8 browser that I am using on...

Re: Send emails if camera fails/goes offline?

Perhaps a cheap hack, maybe something not so reliable that I would bet my paycheck on, but what about monitoring the monitor's status color code in the application's webpage? AFAIK, html pages are using color codes, so if the color changes away from green, an alarm is sent by email, whatever.. I tot...

Re: New install (1.26.3) on Slackware building but not runni

This topic is now closed as far as I am concerned. ZM now works on my slackware box. The key element to remember was: install and compile everything from scratch using the latest releases.... Configure command for ZM was: CFLAGS="-g -Ofast -march=???? -mtune=????" CXXFLAGS="-D__STDC_C...

Re: Send emails if camera fails/goes offline?

If its not already there, I suggest you open an enhancement ticket on the github page... No matter how this feature is added to ZM in future releases, I believe to be a reliable surveillance service, this kind of feature is essential.

Re: How to view monitors with mpeg?

I dont think this works at all. I tried to switch to mpeg stream instead of jpeg, and everything died: getStreamCmdResponse stream error: socket_sendto( /var/run/zm/zms-345613s.sock ) failed: Connection refused - checkStreamForErrors() socket_sendto( /var/run/zm/zms-345613s.sock ) failed: Connection...

Re: no stream, no such file zms-xxxxxx.sock

OK perhaps this is not related to the socket_sendto errors, but reinstalling (properly this time ;) libjpeg-turbo seems to make everything work as normal... no more of these errors except when I restart the service (zmpkg.pl restart), then I see a few of them being thrown in the logs, but a few seco...

Re: no stream, no such file zms-xxxxxx.sock

Exact same problem over here with a Slackware install.

Have you found out yet the solution? Im thinking about a reinstall and some other things to try, I will post back when I have tried them.

Re: How can I make sure libjpeg-turbo is being used

"Another way would be to try and get zoneminder to see the libjpeg-turbo files by adding the necessary configure flags." Could you provide these "necessary" configure flags? I confirm what you are saying. If libjpeg (the standard one) is installed, on my slackware machine libjpeg...

Re: New install (1.26.3) on Slackware building but not runni

I think the best course of action for me will be to do a clean sweep(recompile with proper flags and options) both ffmpeg and zm, and reinstall them, and retry. I realize that I experienced different issues. Perhaps it would be better to start using the github bug report feature to report my issues?!
Seems everyone has a different version number format.
Its just inherent to the nature of opensource projects...
