Monitoring ZM from Safari is VERY slow
After a fresh install of ZM 1.24.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server, I can connect to the zm site through Safari, but when I try to watch a camera, it only updates the image every 5 seconds. If I open the page with Firefox and do the same thing, the image displays in real time (~15 fps) I have made sure t...

Have to run 'sudo chmod 666 /dev/video' after reboot
I have seen this question asked before, but the given fixes dont work for me. I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server. I then installed Zoneminder 1.24.2. I followed the instructions from here: http://viktorpetersson.com/2010/05/23/how-to-install-zoneminder-1-24-2-on-ubuntu-10-04-lts-s...

Want Zoneminder to reside at root of IP address
I just finished building Ubuntu 10.4 and installed Zoneminder 1.24.2
In order to get to my ZM server, I have to go to:
http://myipaddress/zoneminder
I would like to have it so that all I had to do was go to:
http://myipaddress
and that would take me to the Zoneminder homepage. How do I set that?

Re: Hard drive packed to the brim, plz help
I am running zoneminder version 1.24.2-1. One of my cameras seems to be faulty and is filling the hard drive really fast. Purgewhenfull didn't do it's job, so now the server's hard drive is completely packed and the server won't do it's job. How can I delete some of the video footage via SSH so tha...

FTP Upload-only want to upload alarm frames, not every frame
I decided to upload the images from ZM to an FTP site so they werent just sitting on my computer in my house waiting to get nabbed. So I got an FTP server and set it up under the ZM config. Then I went and setup a filter called "FTPfilter". The variables are: Date/Time greater than or equa...

How to encrypt traffic to/from the ZM server?
I often check on my cameras from my Blackberry or work computer. The way I have done this is by setting up port forwarding on my broadband router, then passing an external port in to the ZM server. The problem with that is everything is through http, which is clear text. Are there any ways to enable...

purgewhenfull filter not working as expected
I have the purgewhenfull filter set to run in the background and delete all events when the disk percentage is greater than or equal to 88%. It is currently sitting at 93% and staying there. If I run "df -h", I confirm the disk is at 93% full. When I look at /var/log/messages, I see lots o...

I'd recommend a graphic du front end called 'filelight'. It will give you a pie chart display of your disk usage. Finding what (data) is filling your disk should be a good start to finding what (process) is filling it. Excellent idea! I ran flielight and quickly discovered that I left the debug opt...

New Ubuntu 9.04 -1.24.2 install eating up disk [SOLVED]
I have been running ZM on an old Dell PC with a P4 1.8Ghz processor and 2Gb of RAM for the past year. It had a 160Gb disk in it. I always ran it on Mocord, and I would generally get 10 days worth of video before it started overwriting itself. I upgraded the hardware yesterday to a P4 3.2Ghz with 3Gb...

Where are ZM authentications logged?
I am using the opt_use_auth feature and have several users setup in ZM. I would like to check periodically to see who has logged in, how long they were logged in, etc. The best I could find was looking at the /var/log/apache2/access.log and seeing different IP addresses coming in, but I was hoping f...
