Trying to mix BT878 cards/cameras with a USB cheapo Logitech

Folks, I installed a complete Zoneminder setup into a small business that swore up and down they only needed six cameras. I have a pair of BT878-based cards each driving three cameras for six total. The system is a decent late-model AMD single-core 64bit CPU with a gig of ram, boots from a 320gig dr...

Ah!

OK, not so cryptic much :).

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow AM when I'm back over there.

Seriously, I have no clue, and said so the last time you mentioned it...

Yes, I'm using Firefox. And I just did the "montage mod" but that doesn't explain why any single camera view is unreliable.

Sigh.

I'll try a LiveCD I guess...

Cordel: I'll check that montage issue but...that's not the core problem. If I click on a SINGLE camera view, I may or may not get anything. Error logs? What error logs? The software IS recording a ton of stills from each camera - that part is working. Hell, the whole dang thing is basically "wo...

But WHAT am I doing wrong? Sigh. Look, I can click on a camera and about half the time get a working image (low frame rate, but that's OK). Half the time, on any given camera!? I can click on "montage" and get anywhere from 0 to 4 screens working...1 to 2 is average. I have NO idea how to ...

First, I mis-spoke when I said "six cards". I understand full well there's two cards, two graphics chips, three inputs per card (in this implementation of the card anyhow). Second, I realize what's causing the frame-rate issue. And I can live without being able to see all six views in the ...

What do you mean by: >>Event detail and analysis can be disabled by using the record function<< In other words, where are the settings? --- Lee: what does the term "event" mean in ZM? For that matter, what are "alarms"? I suspect that means "movement"? Look...right now,...

How do I turn off events and alarms?

I want to record video, and allow realtime human-eyeball-monitoring. I have six cameras, all "working" except that due to performance issues, I can't realtime-monitor most even at 3 to 4fps. I read the manual before setting this box up. I have a 500gig SATA drive formatted ReiserFS for not...

Another thing: "events". I don't need "events". I need recording and human-eyeball-watching (at least ONE camera at a time, preferably 2 or more.

Yeah, except... Issue one: is it really recording all six cards? Issue two, and it's a killer: my client is running this thing in her office, next to her regular desktop, with a KVM switch between them. She wants to be able to monitor at least one at a time, any of the six cameras. Right now I've go...
