Depending on how soon, they could just do it from within ZM over the web. It is much simpler to just use the front end to view, rather than create an aditional step. Unless it is long after the events would normally purge.

You did fine on the share memory. However, for cambozala, use the version from the ZM website. It is older, and works better.

with debian, the user www-data has to access the file. I just copy it in, and set the path in options, and it works. Are you useing the old version of cambozala from the ZM website?

The package creates the database for you. You only have to create the links. Here is my cheat sheet. Link Apache sudo ln -s /etc/zm/apache.conf /etc/apache2/conf.d/zoneminder.conf Restart Apache sudo apache2ctl restart suid zmfix sudo chmod 4755 /usr/bin/zmfix Run zmfix zmfix -a edit /etc/sysctl.con...

One thing I discovered is that Cordel is awesome! He fixed it in no time. This is from our off line discussion... Unable to use the database repair tool myisamchk myisamchk --force --update-state -O key_buffer=64M -O sort_buffer=64M -O read_buffer=1M -O write_buffer=1M /var/lib/mysql/zm/*.MYI myisam...

The help here is very good. However, it requires some things from you. Like a good description of the problem. I understand that English may not be your native language. In those cases, I recommend posting a good description in your native language. It is more likely that someone on the list can tra...

Unless the network is segmented, traffic in one part is traffic in all. Kinda... :) I am thinking 2 or perhaps 3 machines tops. As to specs, any modern duel core CPU with all the ram you can get. A Pentium D 2.8 with on gig of ram on a 16 cam system has the CPU coasting, and ram hammered. However, t...

I have never done a system over 32 cams, and do not have as much zoneminder experiance. However, I have 3 30+ cam systems, and several 16+ cam systems on other platforms. So, I can tell you a few problems. Long cable runs. With degraded signal, you get jumping frames, and those are detected as motio...

The old ones are the best. "There is no security without physical security." However, I do have my BIOS settings on all security systems set to 'power on resume' if they pull the plug, and 'power on time' as well. Any of my servers off at 6:00am turn on. This has only been a 'bad thing' on...
