Run State filter test?

I've run across having a similar needs as I, but it's been approached in a different (what I believe is more complicated) manner. I'm thinking that having a filter test for "Run State" (string comparison) would allow me to create a run state of say "NoEmail" and I could toggle th...

Re: Analysis FPS

I just stumbled across this thread after having difficulties finding any documentation on this setting. Reason I was looking at this setting was because I was wanting to do some tweaking on my cameras' frame rates. My cameras are all streaming at 20FPS and I thought that this was unnecessarily high ...

Re: SOLVED

Educational process for sure. I had not realized that in order to automate filters one had to set/check "Run filter in background." Thought that their existence as filters would mean they were all considered for every event. Seems obvious now, but... The documentation mentions this but on...

Re: Insanely long alarm times

I seem to recall having a similar issue quite a while back. Most alarms lasted a minute or 2 but occasionally one would go on forever. From what I can remember I solved it by either changing "Reference Image Blend %ge" from "no blending" to 12.5% and/or changing the "Alarm ...

Re: What are "_TempFilterXXXXX" filters?

Amazed that this isn't really documented...

Appears that these filters are created by the system when one manually triggers an "Execute" on a filter.

Re: Nubie: Questions on Settings

I'm still trying to decipher what these settings are, but I "think" that that one has to do with, for a lack of a better word, "intensity" of change of/for the changed pixels.

If you review the alarms and bring up the alarmed frames you should see what is causing the alarms.

Re: Zoneminder still tries to access disabled camera

How are you making this settings change, and are you saving the change?

What is listed when you bring up the Function window?

Not sure if it's possible or not, but perhaps check for multiple process.

What are "_TempFilterXXXXX" filters?

I had some issues with filters not triggering e-mail like I'd figured/desired. During my messing around I deleted a "_TempFilter" and I thought that this might have screwed me up. I think I now have a custom filter set up correctly (not run in the background), but when looking in my log fi...

Re: Nubie: Questions on Settings

Couple of suggestions that might help: 1) Increase the number of alarm pixels - each zone you set up should show the total number of pixels (just figure a percentage of this- suspect that you're currently extremely low, like 1% or so); 2) Set OVERLOAD FRAME IGNORE COUNT, set it to something non-zero...

Re: Can't initiate email notifications

UPDATE: I now have ZM invoking zmfilter and the email function. So, as far as ZM is concerned I'm all configured correctly. What made it "work?" Not completely sure. I updated the system (Debian 9), though I don't think this was the thing that did it because it had been working previously....

Re: help setting up preclusive zones

montagdude, thanks for that reply! I've now implemented some preclusive zones and hoping they help with changes in general lighting conditions. Now if I could only figure out how to deal with alarms from rain coming off a roof!

Re: Nubie: Questions on Settings

I wonder whether you're getting some spurious light activity. I'm a complete novice who is also trying to work through reducing alarms. I just instituted Preclusive zones to help with it; time will tell how well this works. I have cameras on areas that tend to pick up rain, smoke (wood stove) and su...

Re: Can't initiate email notifications

OK... I am able to execute my filter from the terminal: I have e-mail authentication issues, but, again, that's a totally separate matter. http://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/stable/userguide/filterevents.html Troubleshooting tips mentions possible problems with the filters running this way (directl...
