Problem temporarily solved with earlier ffmpeg version

Hi, I managed to solve the issue by downgrading to an earlier version of ffmpeg. So ffmpeg is to blame. 0.4.8 works without the -strict parameter. The end result is MPEG2 compliant. Phil & James: thank you for guiding me to the right direction. I still do think having a working method of MPEG2 expor...

i second this but have been able to play back 0.4.9 ffmpeg created mpegs in media player without problems. Are you saying that you are able to view videos that are created with ffmpeg 0.4.9 and 1) the original framerate (in the ZM database) is less that 25 FPS 2) and you have created the videos usi...

Creating videos with ffmpeg when FPS is below 25

Hello, This issue has been spread out in various threads for a long time, one of the latest being http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4013 In order to use ZM professionally this would be a problem to solve. Therefore I think the subject deserves a separate thread. Problem: by default ff...

Hello,

I feel a bit stupid but where is it posted? I cannot see the video creation script.

I need a way to create a mpeg video of all events.

Extremely interesting

Hello,

This feature looks very interesting. What would be the best buy of compatible low end cameras to test this out? I am talking about the models available in EU.

False information - the camera does not follow motion

Hei,

I just received a comment of a user of the Sony camera mentioned above. The camera does not follow moving objects.

Are there any cameras able to do that?

The make and model of the camera is Sony SNC-RZ30P.

Combining a dome camera with motion detection and ZM?

Hello, Has anybody tried or even considered the following: what about using a dome camera that has a built-in motion detection? I have heard that Panasonic has a model that is able to "follow" (pan & tilt) moving objects. This feature would in my opinion be a killer app combined with ZM. I'll dig th...

Thank you - I shall take your advice

Phil, Thank you for the tip on Spectra 8. The price is a bit higher than what I thought but on the other hand if it is good it surely is worth it. I guess there's a similar price leap here as in audio gear, too. You get the "typical laymans' stuff" relatively cheap but when you have to get something...

Wanted: Good quality video input

Hi, I've been using Zoneminder for 15 months now. It is time for some technical progress. My main concern now is that the video input of the Bt878 based Hauppauge WinTV-cards is not good. I have verified the poor quality by slplitting the video signal to another device. Watching the signal on a larg...
