Permissions issue with LiveCD 1.21.3

Hello, I think I found a permission issue in Ross' fabulous Live CD. I have a 2 week old installation running 1.22.1 updated with the RPMs. It has been running OK for about 2 week. Yesterday I fiddled around with the monitor settings and found out the following: The problem is that if you alter the ...

Changes in source settings make streaming window 4x size

Hello, Just bumped into a new problem with 2 boxes running 1.22.1 on Mandrake 10.1/10.2. If you adjust the source-settings, for example change fps settings, the "live view" opened by clicking the monitor name in the console view shows the picture in 4x size. Quite uncomfortable ;-) I thoug...

Motion outline not shown in the still images

Hi, I have a strange problem. I have browsed through the forums and found out that this issue has popped up in some other cases. The cure mentioned in those cases does not work for me. The options are ticked on. ZM restarted and even rebooted a few times. ZM 1.22.1 on Ross's Mandrake 10.2 LiveCD. Fo...

Yes, I did get that but how do I fix it?

James,

I do understand that it is a bug and I also did get the nature of the bug. However, I need to know where to put or alter something in the existing ZM database as I am unable to find ZM_OPT_USE_AUTH anywhere....

Re: Update RPMs for ZMliveCD/Mandrake/Mandriva installations

Note for zm-1.22.2 RPMS If upgrading and you aren't using authentication, set it before upgrading. Otherwise you will be unable to access the zm console. If you get caught by this bug you will need to set ZM_OPT_USE_AUTH=1 in the zm DB manually. Should this be in the ZM database already or do you m...

Is there a way to do the conversion manually?

One more thing: as there are instructions on how to do the DB conversion manually (when installing ZM update from a gz-packet) I wonder if there's a way to do the conversion manually?

OK - I will find someone to help me

Hi,

Thanks for the information. I will find someone to help me with the DB.

This is BTW the first time I have had trouble with your RPMs. They've been working like a dream until now.

Consequences of dropping the table?

This is all very comforting :-)

Only problem is that I really need the data in the database. Does dropping the table mean I am going to lose the data?

Hi, I tried to upgrade a Ross' Mandrake 10.1 LiveCD based installation using RPMs at http://www.elltel.net/melins/mdk_10.1/RPMS/ Procedure: First install 1.21. This went OK. reboot After that I installed 1.22.1. For some reason the DB update or alteration does not seem to work: [/usr/lib/zm/bin]# ./...

I got a reply: the Vido Dome is multiprotocol incl. PELCO-D

Hi, I got a detailed answer. The Vido dome mentioned above has multiple protocols, including PELCO-D. So, I need converters to convert both the RS-485 control signal and video signal to TCP/IP traffic (The cam is in a different building and we already have a fibre between the buildings and a LAN in ...

Phil,

I agree. Never seen a website so flashy before. Perhaps the video output is as stable 8)

Are there any specs to the domes you are using? Do they have some sort of moisture resistance classification? (IP 6x)

ZM compatible outdoor PTZ cam, preferably dome?

Hello, I am trying to get information from resellers in Finland but the results are very poor. Therefore I have to turn to you, people ;-) I am planning a ZM based system. 2 of the cameras will be mounted in a warehouse few hundred meters away from the building where the ZM server will be. There is ...

Very interesting thread...

This thread was very interesting. It just might be that my faulty mainboard was not the only thing to blame in this issue: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3443 I had similar experiences last winter with another machine. I will dig more into the ring buffer mythology and see how it h...
