Re: apache2.service failed because of unavailable resources or another system error.

It's quite probably this one... /dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-ubuntu--lv / ext4 ro,relatime, data=ordered 0 0 It could be caused by the disk being mounted as read only after a file system error or hardware problem. I'd try dismounting it and running fsck (probably with the -f -y -C0 options) to check the fi...

Re: apache2.service failed because of unavailable resources or another system error.

Code: Select all

apache2.service: Failed to run 'start' task: Read-only file system
Sounds like one of the file systems has been mounted or remounted as Read Only.

What's the output of

Code: Select all

cat /etc/mtab
Look for 'ro' in the flags (most or all of them should have 'rw').

Re: status display numbers?

Yes, had in mind too (as htop show), until i've got figures well over 4 (5+). I'm sure, as that was observed on different systems not only on one. Could it be overclocking or kernel dealing with CPU states and speed? I think that load is actually calculated as something like, "the number of process...

2. Load number? - CPU is i5-7200U, dual core, 4 threads - and what number would be for 100% CPU load (all cores & threads)?
100% load = 1.00 per CPU thread, so for yours that would be 4.00.

Re: Limiting the FPS of an RTSP stream using H264 passthrough

The FFMpeg proxy idea was my first thought, but you make a good point about re-encoding several streams being quite CPU-heavy.

Perhaps, though, you could do a similar thing but instead of re-encoding to H264, get FFMpeg to dump JPEGs into a folder instead and then use the File source type in ZM?

Re: Feasibility question

Maybe you could use a Filter to run the external script? https://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/stable/userguide/filterevents.html Just a heads-up that ZM needs restarting to get new filters to run automatically. Testing with the Execute and List Matches buttons works fine for development purposes tho...

Re: Storage view shows not full memory capacity

I'd expect a 4 TB drive to show somewhere in the region of 3.6 TB, so that part looks about right. If this is a Linux system running an ext2/3/4 file system then the 'used space' could very well be the OS Reserved Blocks - This is typically 5% by default, which is close to the 180 GB showing as used...

Re: PurgeWhenFull not working

Shame - But it was probably worth a try. I wouldn't expect to see the permissions of the files and folders under /zoneminder change after the chmod though, just the directory itself, but maybe chmod-ing the entire tree would work? I, too, use a separate drive for ZM, but I didn't do it according to ...

I have confirmed that it is retrieving only the usage of "/" not of "/zmvideo"

What did I set wrong?
Permissions?

Try

Code: Select all

chmod 755 /zmvideo

Re: Filter Does Not Delete Automatically

Have you tried executing the filter manually?

I think ZoneMinder 1.32.x needs restarting to get the filters to run in the background (my 1.32.3 did).

Did you resize the file system after resizing the LV?

Code: Select all

resize2fs /dev/my_vg/my_lv
If you've already done that then I suggest umounting the disk and running fsck to see if there are any errors with the file system...

Code: Select all

umount /dev/my_vg/my_lv
fsck -fC0 /dev/my_vg/my_lv

It actually looks like you missed the initial / off the command line path...

What are the permissions of /home /home/jpd and /home/jpd/Dropbox?

You could try changing them to 755 (rwxr-xr-x)...

Code: Select all

chmod 755 /home /home/jpd /home/jpd/Dropbox

Re: Zoneminder and Seperate HDD for recording

The screenshot suggests that the permissions on /mnt/vdb are set to owner-only (rwx------ or 700) so only the security user can read them.

Try chmod-ing that and /mnt to 755 (rwxr-xr-x) so that other users can read and 'execute' them.

Code: Select all

chmod 755 /mnt /mnt/vdb
