Re: Foscam FI8904W frequently has all blue images captured
mikb: I don't have any log file in: /var/log/zm It's an empty directory. Where is this defined? On the 'logging' tab, I have an entry: LOG_DEBUG_FILE Where extra debug is output to (?) [ /tmp/zm/zm_debug.log+ ] I have that too, no idea what that's for :( "Options" "Paths" : "PATH_LOGS Path to the v...

Re: Can't open /tmp/zm/zmswap-m3/... No Such file or directo
Daft question, but do you have a /tmp/zm/zmswap-m3 .... directory, or have you accidentally/deliberateely purged /tmp while ZM was running?

Re: Foscam FI8904W frequently has all blue images captured
Are the blue images coming from the camera, or from ZoneMinder? With my cameras (not the same brand), when there's a comms error between the capture demon of Zoneminder, and the camera (over an IP Link), the capture demon returns a placeholder "blue picture" which is analyzed and saved instead. I ca...

Re: setting post event record time
Click on the "source" for the camera you wish to tweak (3rd column of main ZoneMinder display), then "Buffers" tab and "Post Event Image Count". This is the number of frames stored AFTER the event has ended, and is in "frames", so work out how many frames-per-second your camera goes at, and pop some...

Re: How to move events between monitors?
Yep. Tried that. No joy. Oh, well the zone-define problem you had would definitely persist across waggling the camera on and off. I see :( I should never have been able to move a point out of range in the first place. ... it should have just put the point within range, Absolutely right, just clip i...

Re: How to move events between monitors?
The only solution in the mean time I could see was to re-add the camera. Each time I did, it came back green. I was able to get on with my day. While you are fixing whatever your underlying problem is, don't re-add the camera, try setting it from "Modect/Record" to "None" and then back to "Modect"....

Ability to remotely reboot camera on serious signal loss
As hinted it in http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=21156&p=80211#p80211 Is it possible to add an option to specify a command to be run when a [IP?] camera is dropping the signal, or otherwise misbehaving? It would need to be per-camera, not global, as some cameras may not support ...

Re: mpeg vs jpeg vs ftp?
it's not like zm can do anything about it like send the camera a reset. True, but at least in can tell the difference and log it, turn the status RED etc. I'm sure someone somewhere has a mod that could reset the camera remotely. If not, that should be a feature request :) Actually, I use a (timed)...

Re: mpeg vs jpeg vs ftp?
either via /video/mjpg.cgi or via /image/jpeg.cgi. Could someone point me towards links as to why one would chose one or the other? In my opinion: MJPEG should be more efficient. Although both streams are likely to be similar quality, on my DLink DCS900 cameras, MJPEG is kicked off with a single HT...

Re: One image on event playback, then black screen?
Is this screengrab taken from the"Event" view? The white text you call gibberish says "Time to first event = ? seconds". This makes me think that maybe you have the event view showing "Replay: [All Events]", where it pauses and shows that screen until it's "time for" the next event, i.e. real time. ...

Re: Newbie questions about disk usage and latency
I've already lowered JPEG quality to 60 when no alarm is running. I've also thought of enabling dedupe function of ZFS... but then, it's a low end atom processor, it will die trying to dedupe data. If you're thinking the de-dupe of ZFS will help compress the image data, it won't work. No two images...
