Re: Mocord

My replies to your posting at http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=20464&p=78090 cover about as much as I understand of the upload process. In the 'Event Filter' attachment for Email substitute it to use the 'Upload to Server' filter with similar setting and then when you 'Save' ena...

Re: Doing video rotation to another disk and mocord?

2) Maybe set "Section length" to the desired length e.g = 300 (5 minutes) and also set 'Options->Config->EVENT_CLOSE_MODE' = alarm Then setup a filter "Purge WhenFull" to do something like : Archive Status - equal to - Unarchived Only and Disk Percent - greater than - 90 and Alarm Frames - equal to ...

Re: Corrupt JPEG data: 1 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9

Shot in the dark but you could try disabling 'ADD_JPEG_COMMENTS' if it's enabled in case it's contributing to the problem? 'Options->Images->Add jpeg timestamp annotations as file header comments'. Outside of ZoneMinder I've typically seen a similar message when a programme expects a JPEG file but i...

Re: Mocord

With modect the system is constantly on but would only record when an event was triggered. - I had approx 90GB of disk space that was never being used - might as well record all the time if it's monitoring all the time - now have two days of retrospective data - much greater overlap of recording ava...

Re: Mocord

Due to upload bandwidth restrictions seems the best option is to set "Section length" = 60 and also set 'Options->Config->EVENT_CLOSE_MODE' = alarm* * "The 'alarm' setting means that if an alarm occurs during the event, the event will be closed once the alarm is over regardless of when this occurs. ...

Re: Mocord

Perhaps there isn't a way. How do others handle FTP uploads when in Mocord mode?

Re: ZoneMinder 1.25.x doesn't upload to FTP server or send e

I've seen this before with FTP creating files of size zero on the server, I'm convinced it's a local permissions problem. The account handling the FTP upload does not have permission to access the file and upload it, all it does is create the filename on the server but that's as far as it gets. It's...

Mocord

Happy with my current Modect setup, on an event trigger it records just the right amount of pre / post roll frames (typically 16 seconds) and then uploads the JPG sequence. However if I select Mocord and an event is triggered it will upload a whole 600 second block. Is there a way to get ZM to uploa...

Re: ZoneMinder 1.25.x doesn't upload to FTP server or send e

Apache might not have a login shell, maybe something like 'su - apache -s /bin/bash' will get you where you need to be http://wiki.networksecuritytoolkit.org/nstwiki/index.php/Bash_Advanced_Topics Email - I might be wrong but I think ZM expects the SMTP server to use port 25. To configure ZM to use ...

Re: ZoneMinder 1.25.x doesn't upload to FTP server or send e

If it were me debugging this I'd start off by su'ing to the user that ZM does most of its work as, in Ubuntu I think that's the 'www-data' user. Then I'd try out a manual telnet SMTP email test, refer to something like http://www.yuki-onna.co.uk/email/smtp.html if you're unsure how to do that. Equal...

Re: ZoneMinder 1.25.x doesn't upload to FTP server or send e

Had a quick poke around on Google & found this page which might help http://francisfisher.me.uk/problem/2012/zoneminder-bareword-zm_path_logs-not-allowed-while-strict-subs-in-use/ Someone seems to think that: I had a similar issue, and it took me a while to realize what was causing it. It seems that...

Re: Ubuntu 12.04 Server BT878A process crashes

I believe the crashed reports in the log are because the zone you have defined has dimensions outside that of the image source. However I don't believe this is why you get a black screen. I don't know the Camsecure BT878A but perhaps the Device Channel is not set correctly (under the Source tab) or ...

Re: Ubuntu Server 12.04 & ZM 1.25 package Install notes

To get SFTP working I first needed to install the compilers 'build-essential' under aptitude / apt-get so the Perl modules could build. Then using CPAN I installed the 'Net::SFTP::Foreign' package although I didn't realise this was the required one until after I had installed 'Net::SFTP' (which took...
