Re: Buttons do not work

You did not say where the buttons were that did not work. Assuming you meant the buttons in an event view, I did a test with my production server, Bionic with ZM 1.34.2 viewing an event. All the buttons worked for me, rename to export. You may want to check the zm database for correct permissions my...

Re: Debian Buster install procedure for Zoneminder 1.34.x

Installed 1.34.0 on a Raspberry pi 4 running a clean install of Rasbian using https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_10_B ... om_ZM_Repo. No problems, but ZM says 1.34.2 is out and a look at the repo confirms that. However sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade keep the same version. Anybody any ideas ??...

Re: cpu nearly at 100%

Are you using the zmrepo?
https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_10_B ... om_ZM_Repo

I have not done an upgrade on Buster but have 1.34.0 running on a pi 3b+ and 1.34.2 on an i5 quad core with 8 GB RAM.

It is possible that the database did not fully upgrade.

Re: upgrade from 1.32.3 failed

What database server are you running?
Apache2 or NGINX?
How did you do the upgrade? Did you stop Zoneminder first?
Have you tried restarting the PC?

How do I increase the RAM of Docker?
Under OS, you mean to run Zoneminder under Ubuntu?
Google is your friend for your Docker questions.

Yes, without Docker.I also feel that the NAS is not powerful enough to do a decent job with Zoneminder and all the other processes you expect a NAS to do.

Re: Zoneminder /dev/shm: 100%

If you are running in Docker you need to increase RAM for Docker.

Better yet, dump Docker and just install Zoneminder under the OS.

Adventure with Focal Fossa, Ubuntu 20.04

With the release of Ubuntu 20.04, Fossa, due within two months I decided to see if I could get Zoneminder installed on the Nightly Build. I discovered that Fossa currently has Zoneminder 1.32.x in its repository but I wanted to use 1.34.2. So I downloaded the Eoan 1.34.2 files from the ppa and insta...

Re: Mysql et php recommandé

I would not recommend Zoneminder 1.32.x as the new version 1.34.x is released. See: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Server_or_Desktop_Zoneminder_1.34.x#Install_Zoneminder_1.34.x_on_Ubuntu_16.04_with_shell_script I would use Mariadb-server over MySQL. Google shows the PHP version to be 7.0 althoug...

Re: zmupdate.pl hangs when updating from 1.32.3 to 1.33.12

I upgraded a Bionic 1.30.4 box today with about 60K events. i5 quad core with 16GB RAM. It took a while, too. But it was a successful upgrade!

Re: Fix Permissions "Security" Note Debian/Ubuntu

Just checked my latest Ubuntu Zoneminder production server. /var/cache/zoneminder is at www-data:www-data (set by the Zoneminder install)

As a reminder for those using additional storage such as another HD or remote NAS the storage directory on the drive/device needs to be owned by www-data

Fix Permissions "Security" Note Debian/Ubuntu

Prior version of my install procedure and install script contained a "Fix Permissions: chown -R www-data:www-data /usr/share/zoneminder/" step. It has been brought to my attention that this could allow the www-data user to write in this area which is not a good thing. To correct this on your system ...

Re: HOW TO INSTALL ZONEMINDER, v1.34.0. ON UBUNTU 19.10 (eoan), with php 7.4 & mysql 8

I don't think this is needed... if it is then I would like to fix that in zm... sed -i "15i default_authentication_plugin= mysql_native_password" /etc/mysql/my.cnf The long and short is that we don't want to be dependent on the old mysql password stuff... I did a test with Ubuntu 19.10 with MySQL 8...

Re: HOW TO INSTALL ZONEMINDER, v1.34.0. ON UBUNTU 19.10 (eoan), with php 7.4 & mysql 8

There are a couple of other things that while not necessary can improve apache performance. a2enmod headers a2enmod expires The following is not required and is not advised. It would allow the apache process to alter zoneminder, inject code, etc. chown -R www-data:www-data /usr/share/zoneminder/ Ma...
