Re: Help reverting back from 1.27.99 to 1.27.1

May be just as easy for you to start over with a fresh install of Linux. I had to replace a hard drive on a ZM server last Monday and had my 15 camera system up and running in a bit over an hour. If you do not need the features of 1.27 I recommend you use: http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ub...

Re: Apache2 IP is different to zoneminder IP Address

Check your /etc/network/interfaces file. Normally if you get your IP address from your router you should see something like this: # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5). # The loopback network interfac...

Re: Ubuntu server upgrade fron 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS no vid

Doug, Please try again with a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04. I have a Dell quad core running 14.04 and ZM 1.26.5 with 15 cameras. In fact I had to replace the hard drive yesterday. I was at Best Buy when it opened at 1000, 10 minute drive to the warehouse, swapped out the drive, installed everything...

Re: Undersized PC?

There are lots of things that can put a camera into alarm. Light and dark from passing clouds will do it in the warehouse I monitor. Your PC should do OK with those four cameras. I ran 14 IP cameras and one USB on a Dual Core 2.4 GHZ with 8 GIG of RAM on MODECT. Have moved up to a Quad Core with 8 G...

Re: Ip-cam problem in zoneminder 1.26.5

Are you using Firefox to view the montage? If so there are some settings to change that might help: Enter about:config in the address bar scroll down to browser.cache.check_doc_frequency 3 change the 3 to a 1 browser.cache.disk.enable True -> False network.http.max-connections-per-server -> put a va...

Re: Ubuntu Server 12.04 64-bit with Zoneminder 1.27

My comment refers to only the mini.iso for Ubuntu 12.04. I have not had issues with the mini installer for 14.04. See: http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_Server_14.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.26.5_the_easy_way Minimal Ubuntu downloads are here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installa...

Re: red page in streaming file, local, remote

Well, it looks like you do not have your cameras configured correctly. Recheck the documentation for your cameras, set the camera resolution to match what you set for image size in ZM. What would be helpful is info on the cameras you use.

Purge when full problem

I've successfully run ZM on a variety of platforms for years with few issues. I've set the Purge When Full filter to delete old events and have never had problems until this past weekend. OS is Ubuntu 14.04-1 on a Dell Optiplex 780 Quad Core, 750 GIG drive with 8 GIG of RAM. EXT4 FS with the noatime...

Right at the top of the How to is: Install Ubuntu I strongly recommend you used the mini.iso installer as I've had some issues with 12.04-5 server CD, Install Basic Server, OpenSSH Server, and LAMP Server LAMP will install Apache, MySQL and PHP. If you are just learning this I recommend you yse teh ...

Re: zoneminder status returns - The table 'Logs' is full

You need to set a filter called PurgeWhenFull and set it to run in the background. By default it is set to delete events when the disk is 95% full. It will remove the events from the database and zmaudit will run and remove the images. As for your current problem try deleting some of the images manu...

Re: more than 24 cameras. how?

You may have hit a limit in MySQL. I'm running 15 cameras and when several users connect to the montage view we get a max connections error. To fix this I've increased the MySQL connections to 1000: sudo nano /etc/mysql/my.cnf look for max_connections = and change the value to 1000 (or greater) ctrl...

Re: Servers are running. Cant watch video on Firefox.

You forgot to enable CGI in Apache2 CGI is not enabled in Ubuntu 14.04 by default. Enable it this way: a2enmod cgi Create a new user adduser www-data video Restart Apache /etc/init.d/apache2 force-reload Also in Firefox: You will need to increase the number of allowed connections to use the montage ...
