Re: Foscam FI8910W PT PZ Will Not Work, Incompatible.

Are the firmware versions of your two 8910s the same?
Yes, they are the same.
If you aren't already, you might keep your eye on the 1.25 forum where the issue is/has been talked about. It looks like it is more a problem with the control script than anything we might be doing.

Re: Foscam FI8910W PT PZ Will Not Work, Incompatible.

I can use the software packaged with the FI8910W to completely control the cameara. Works fine. In a windows machine? What you don't mention is whether you unchecked the pt setting by accessing the camera directly using the browser. If I recall, for this model, the default for pt is disabled. [edit...

Re: [SOLVED] 1.25 crontab issues

Glad you figured it out. Had me thinking.
FWIW, the third line of your crontab will run every minute.

Re: [UNSOLVED] 1.25 crontab issues

Maybe some additions to each line.

Like:

Code: Select all

0 8 * * 1-5 /usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl MotionOff > /somedirectory/stdout.log 2>/somedirectory/stderr.log

Re: Viewing ZoneMinder on a SmartTV

Sorry no experience with SmartTV but I've done/do this via a web browser through in a htpc on both sd and hd tv's. No matter what is happening on the htpc, I can click a button on the remote and instantly view the cam that I have set up to view. It has a very big wow factor when people see it happen...

Re: Foscam FI8918W with ZoneMinder 1.24.4

You don't list you're settings but I'd start with shmmax and shmall

You're setup might need to be different but this works for me:

Code: Select all

$ cat /etc/sysctl.conf | grep -i ^k
kernel.shmall = 134217728
kernel.shmmax = 805011456

Re: Foscam FI8918W with ZoneMinder 1.24.4

I am successfully using this camera with Ubuntu 10.10 and zoneminder 1.24.2. I made sure that I setup the camera for pt by accessing the camera directly and also set a static ip. I added a user and gave that user a password and the status of operator. If I recall, a pt setting speed of 0 will disable.
