Re: new functionality audit / restart when random stop occurs

The recommendation is to use monit, or tell systemd to keep zm running.

If you have a better idea, then we eagerly await your pull request.

You have configured it as a local camera, not as a remote camera.

Re: View gapless events in numerical order?

Yeah the next event logic is kinda dumb. It could be made smarter that's for sure.

It's a code change. Very possible, just requires someone to do it.

Look at the logs. They will often tell you things. It's why they exist.

Re: Zmc crashed signal 10

Depends! That is not a lot of ran and if your resolution or buffers are too large you will consume all Ram.

Re: Zmc crashed signal 10

Not enough memory. /dev/shm uses ram because it's a ram disk.

You will need to reduce resolution, reduce buffers, reduce something. Is this a local cam or remote? for local cam you will need to allocate enough ram to the gpu.

Re: Zoneminder hardware requirement

Yes. In raid5, write speed is the same as 1 drive. Read speed is equivalent to the # of drives, which is great. In raid 10, the write speed is equal to the # of stripes. So in a 4 drive raid 10, the speed is 2xspeed of 1 drive. In terms of capacity.. with a 4 drive raid 5... you have the choice of c...

Re: Help with adding camera to ZM, got working URL

It may be that capture is working, but something else makes you think it isn't.

If the url works in vlc, then it should work in ZM. Please provide some log content, and then maybe we can diagnose what is happening.

Re: Unable to Open Input ... due to: Operation now in progress

That error message usually means that ffmpeg can't connect to the camera. Double check your auth and url, etc. verify that the same url works in vlc. make sure there are no typos. The MaxFPS and AlarmFPS should be larger than what the camera will send, just to limit zm running away if it can't conne...
