Hello community - I am back. To be honest - I actually gave up and decided to do a full re-installation of Ubuntu 7.04 on my experimental Linux system and after completion I followed the instruction from the wiki to install the ZM 1.22.3 package. And guess what: IT WORKED !!!! After establishing the...

it driove me nuts - now I'm happy again
Hello you Linux guru's out there - I need your help. some months ago I installed zoneminder on Ubuntu 6.10 following the insructions on the ZM-Wiki. Everything worked great and I started already to adjust the zones to get alarms when any cats (or other animals) got close to my Koi-Pond. Well - I kno...

Re: need the libmysqlclient15-dev?
Hopefully you don't need the -dev package . . . the one you want is either libmysqlclient15 or mysqlclient15off (that's what ubuntu calls it) running "apt-cache search libmysqlclient" should show up what's available. The package manager of my Ubuntu 7.04 claims that libmysqlclient15off is...

Re: zm will not not load after debian upgrade to etch
Zoneminder has been running great on a server for quite a while. I did an aptitude upgrade which took my debian version to etch. Now when I try to start zm i get this in the zmpkg.log 04/26/2007 20:18:30.664862 zmpkg[17162].INF [Command: start] 04/26/2007 20:18:31.490567 zmpkg[17162].ERR [Unable to...

Thank you to zoneminder and to boaba for the comments. I recently started my experiments with one surveillance camera TV7043 - which is mounted so, that the whole pond is visible in the 78deg lens angle. At the moment I am playing around with the zone settings - trying to get rid of the false alarms...

Folks, I am a 'bloody' ZonMinder beginner and just had not the guts to report exacly the same problem described above. Due to very limited Linux experiance I was somehow assuming I am the problem  Glad to see that others do see the same. I'll try the hint and set nph-zms to zms in options/pat...

Crazy idea - robocop application to protect a Koi pond
Hi there, after cats and Heron's have stolen several times my expensive fishes from my small pond - I decided to start a new home project. My vision: A solid installed camera is adjusted that it oversees the whole pond and the mask is set to detect activities of the pond and the edge. The plan is to...
