NTSC = Black Screen, PAL = distorted

I'm having an unusual problem that I'm hopeful somebody will be able to help me out with. I have a PC with Slackware 12.0 on it, based on the 2.6 kernel. I added the correct modprobe options for the bttv module to /etc/modprobe.d/ and the module generates no errors. I installed all the dependencies ...

This problem is also in evidence on Slackware 12.0 Adding the 3 lines above fixed the problem without difficulty though. (The only difficulty was the stress I put myself under between the time the compile failed and I came here to check for a solution. ;) )

Ahhhh... I wasn't thinking enough. I have ZoneMinder configured to continually record in 5 minute chunks, so I was looking for something to do motion detection on those events. I didn't think that most people probably use motion detection and therefore would have motion in their events to begin with.

Assuming that all the images are from the same monitor, why not start with the image of the first frame captured in the first event as the reference image and do the normal blending from there? An internal design issue that I'm sure you've already thought about is that all the other filters should b...

I was envisioning this feature would work similarly to what James described: I use the existing filter mechanism to obtain a set of events that I'm interested in. I then define a zone with the sensativity settings and the like and then feed the set of events into the motion detection function using ...

Hard Lockups

I've been having a problem for quite a while now. I've gone through the whole range of possible problems, from thinking it's a software bug to believing it to be hardware related. I've replaced basically all the hardware in two different machines with brand new and then used (known good) parts. For ...

Feed Events into Motion Detection w/Custom Zone Definition

I had an idea while watching video the other day. If I'm correct in my thinking of how ZoneMinder is built, this may be little more than pasting different chunks of the system together in a new way. A vehicle on our lot got keyed badly and there was a camera 10 feet away. However, since I have the c...

I've used the Spectra8 capture cards (4 inputs, 4 capture chips, can use up to 2 cheap 4-port add-on mini-boards to get up to 12 cameras with a single board) successfully. I'm using Speco HEAT cameras for both internal and external use; about the best picture that one can expect at night without LED...

Check your PMs James.

Why even have it if there's no difference and it causes problems on some systems? (Just curious as to what advantage it offers.)

I'm still wondering what the difference between the two are?

Nevermind - found it in the Paths tab under options. Changing it to zms from nph-zms did indeed fix the problem. Thanks for the help.

I've tried auto, yes, and no for the streaming options. All produce the same effect.

How does one change from nph-zms to zms? What does this mean exactly?

Streaming Broken in 1.22.2?

I know that this is probably a problem that's been answered before, but I've been unable to find the solution with the search function. How does one configure ZoneMinder to stream JPEGs as it has in previous versions, or configure Mozilla/FireFox to display the new streams properly? I configured a l...

I have some more information. In zmaudit.log, there are the following lines: Found database monitor '1' Got 454 events Found database monitor '2' After doing much troubleshooting, I managed to narrow the problem down to one line. Line number 169 in zmaudit.pl will run fine for the first iteration (i...
