Just to close off my own thread.. I extracted everything from the Stats and Events tables, and loaded them into Excel. Then I noted the Event-Ids of all of the "true" events (10) and "falsies" (200), and set about "Tuning". First the PixelDiff Threshold, at least half of the "falsies" were cleared ...

Fine Tune Zone
I have zone stats on, but I just wonder "how" to fine tune my zones. I could use "trial and error", but since my zones are very sensative I have at least 200 events to help me work out the right settings. I can see that a zone might be defined thus: Alarm Check Method [Blobs] Min/Max Pixel Threshold ...

I do have a prototype system backup and restore script somewhere that never quite got finished. Do you fancy sending it to me (in it's current state) and I'll finish it up for you? Only guessing, but we'd want to read the location of the events and images directories from the database, and take the ...

Backup all the essential stuff
I have looked through the wiki and FAQ but can't see the answer (can't believe no-one else has asked). Does anyone have a script (or defined process) that will back up all of the essential data to a single file? I am guessing that the "essential" information would be the camera configuration ...

I have a simple system running on the following hardware: PII 233Mhz, 256Mb Ram, 80GB Hard disk. Ancient WinTV card from Hauppauge. I initially tested this with the LiveCD, and it worked without any configuration at all... so I chose the "install" option from the CD and That was all I had to do. It ...

Email when a camera fails
I am slowly building my Zoneminder setup, and currently have a single camera running. (When someone answers my request about 4 port cards I'll have 3). Since this is a residential installation, I am not going to be checking the event logs EVERY day (it isn't really that exciting to watch me and my ...

4 Port Card in the UK
I have searched for this answer, but while I have found LOADS of people asking the question, I haven't found an actual response (maybe I am searching for the wrong thing). Anyway. I have just installed my first Zoneminder system (as a replacement for a SWANN 4Ch DVR-Net), and it rocks! Now that I ...

Maybe you could have a "night time" and "Day time" run states? Change the % of pixels that trigger an alarm for the "Night time" state, so that it will still trigger if someone turns "on" the light at night??? Of course, if this is a "dark room" which doesn't follow the light/dark phases of the sun ...
