http://www.planetfall.com/~jeff/Elyssa_IP_Cameras.zip Edit: Here is the summary ... The package contains a USBSER2, which is basically an adapter that allows up to two USB cameras to be monitored via IP. It supports USB cams that use the VIMICRO ZC0301 chip. The 701 contains one USB camera and the 7...

I contacted them, and they are sending specs and a Windows Help file that covers the server in the camera. I'll host them and put up links when I get it.

I've done business with Stark Electronic before, too. Great people.

I found this at Spytown. I have no idea if it's any good or what the specs are: DigiVue ECVD-701 Color Vandal Resistant, Weatherproof IP Dome Camera with 3.6mm Lens - $225. It has an electronic iris, which is not as good as a mechanical one, but it definitely looks like it's designed for outdoor use...

I edited my post.

I've never tried such a thing, but I've seen all kinds of warnings. CMOS sensors get bleached in sunlight. And for outdoor use, an iris is useful to control the light.

The Trendnet TV-IP200 has a CMOS sensor and lacks an iris, so I would not expect it to last a long time if it ever gets any direct sun. A CCD sensor is preferable for this kind of application. The TV-IP300 meets both criteria. Keep in mind that the TV-IP300 does not have a progressive scan sensor, s...

I've done business with Spytown before. They're OK. I'm generally unhappy with analog video though...especially NTSC at resolutions above 352x288. PAL is another story, but PAL cameras are difficult to come by in the US. To complicate my own situation even more, I run Zoneminder inside a Xen virtual...

I finally received a response from AXIS that 4.33 beta is only for 207W, not 207. They told me that 4.22 is the latest for the 207.

I haven't actually seen mine lock up yet. I'm using MJPEG streams.

That doesn't make sense to me. ZM doesn't use any of the ActiveX stuff.

The 207 arrived today. Firmware 4.22 as expected ... I opened a ticket with Axis to get newer firmware. It works; the image quality is better than I expected.

I'd also like to know about the firmware. I just ordered an open box Axis 207 for $139! Not bad. I hope everything's there :)

Thanks rockerBOO, I know the 206M "works" but I can't determine the extent of workingness. If Zoneminder has to request individual frames from the camera (one HTTP request per frame) than it would appear to be a sub-optimal solution at high framerates. Searching the forums leads me to beli...

Megapixel cameras?

Any experinces capturing video from network-enabled cameras like the Axis 206M or IQeye?

Can Zoneminder use the MJPEG stream from Axis cameras or is it still necessary to grab individual frames?
