Re: Axis M3015 camera setup

Burger, iSPY finds the camera right away wint many options bold/normal text font and I can use the web interface of the camera itself. I think there must be some tweaking and setup that has to be done on the camera side first. Also I must have used a password that was too long or there is some limit...

Axis M3015 camera setup

Hi All, I am having issues getting this PTZ 1080p camera setup in ZM 1.34. I have it working in iSPY and I am trying to use the same connection string like i do with my Amcrest camersa FFMPEG/RTSP. Do the Axis camers use something different? It seems that the axis camera may want you to build the di...

Re: Purge disk when full 50/80/95% ?

Yes Andy that did it, not very intuitiave and I assume it is documented that purge when full does not work unless you point to a storage location.

Re: How to Install Zoneminder on TrueNAS Core 12.0-U2

with zoneminder the backup is a pain, command line dump of the database. With a TrueNAS jail it is easy :

iocage stop zm
iocage export zm
iocage start zm

That is why it is important to keep all the data on a ZFS dataset...

Re: How to Install Zoneminder on TrueNAS Core 12.0-U2

I like the TrueNAS on your hardware idea, and considered running it myself at one time a couple years ago after my 1st Synology NAS got zapped by a lightning strike. I just could not see much advantage to it over rolling your own servers. Rolling your own is a pain in the ass. Once we get TrueNAS S...

I have 6 storage areas, can I just do ORs on them all or do I have to make 6 purge when full events?

Re: VMware "best practices" for 2020

Hyperthreading IMHO is bad if your load for the box is above 50% Dual CPU NUMA issue? VEEAM is bad, no really! LOL Does your VM have the Open-VM-Tools installed and up to date? if your using the proprietary VMware tools what version? For our Windows servers in the past we had to tewak the disk timeo...

Re: How to Install Zoneminder on TrueNAS Core 12.0-U2

Very good so far(1 minute install is hard to complain about) the there are a few of my gripes(some issue with FreeNAS, the plugin or FreebSD): *1) purge disk when full appears only to work on the default location - fixed, must specify store location 2) I can't load an nvidia video driver into FreeNA...

Re: Purge disk when full 50/80/95% ?

my mount points work fine, I can view and remove events with no issues. The issue is that the purge when full is not getting those other locations. I am wondering if the purge when full ONLY looks at /var/db/zoneminder/events

and not at my other mount points /mnt/doorX to see if they are 95% full

Re: Purge disk when full 50/80/95% ?

Andy, I am going to rebuild this machine/jail as I had some issue with the volume and at boot have zfs metadata errors. I have no errors with a scrub or status -v but if the boot is unhappy I can re-install in a short time. This install was migrated from a laptop single disk and the laptop disk coul...

Re: Purge disk when full 50/80/95% ?

Hi Andy, Well I am trying to NOT use the default location : /var/db/zoneminder/events Silly me tried to make mount points: /mnt/door1 /mnt/door2 /mnt/door3 The events do store in the new location and delete when I view an event and pick the "delete" button. I want to use a mount point so I can add a...

Re: add GeForce GT 730 source

hardware acceleration with zoneminder 1.34 and FreeNAS/TrueNAS is possible to get working with the onboard Intel graphics and ATI. Re: add GeForce GT 730 source

https://github.com/ZoneMinder/zoneminder/issues/3063 so it seems that there are issues trying to get hardware acceleration to work. My issue might be related to getting the video card as a PCIe deivce passed into the jail and then installing/configuring the nvidia drivers for FreeBSD in my jail. I ...
