Re: Best config for simple setup
Motion detection done by the camera itself, so ZoneMinder doesn't need to analyze the images. You mention a simple setup in your subject line. One way to start out is. 1 use rtsp stream 2. use ZM to do detection 3. set a low resolution on your camera 4. set a low analysis rate on ZM 5. get a workin...

Re: Help with zmNinja Setup for Internet Access
Let's be clear, if you are using ZM on the internet, you must use https/ssl encryption which is port 443 by default. ZM will run on whatever port you have apache setup for. currently in my case it is a non standard port, as 80 and 443 were already in use on that server. SSL is also optional, but re...

I did some more searching and came up with this. I am sure there is a valid reason for this. thanks again https://zmninja.readthedocs.io/en/latest/guides/FAQ.html#how-does-zmninja-use-my-personal-data https://medium.com/zmninja/zmninja-privacy-and-your-data-5489a5974baf None of this information is t...

RESOLVED -why is zmninja-pro-1.6.4-linux-x86_64.AppImage phoning home
Hello I really like zmninja pro and appreciate all the work. I was looking up something for someone else and noticed that the app is opening a connection to an outside server jperkins@htpc:~$ sudo ss -tupan| grep zmn | sed -e 's/my_source/redacted/g' tcp ESTAB 0 0 redacted:35550 140.82.112.5:443 use...

Re: Help with zmNinja Setup for Internet Access
The zmNinja desktop app is working OK. The iOS app works OK when connected to my local LAN using the ip address of my Ubuntu server but that is good . it shows that you can access your zoneminder via ip address. I usually turn that off to keep strangers from knocking on the door by the ip address. ...

Re: ZoneMinder::Control::Reolink refactoring
I'd hate to see your work go to waste. When I submitted a very small pull request it was applied quickly. Please note I did not read your changes but based on your comment maybe you would want to start with something smaller at first. Of course if you just wanna modify your own copy of Zoneminder, h...

Re: New User testing, lots of crashes
My only beef with ZM now is the resource requirements, but I guess that is an optimization problem "only". Of course in order to turn the right knobs, I will have to descend more into the inner workings - but I'm used to that. Meybe start by reducing your resolution, framerate, and analysis rate gr...

Re: New User testing, lots of crashes
FWIW. I know nothing about camera models and did what I did before purchasing my cameras. mixed set of mostly negative reviews mentioning zoneminder on amazon for your camera model https://www.amazon.com/Reolink-Surveillance-Security-Detection-RLC-410-5MP/dp/B07C5JWK4K Camera doesn’t meet my needs a...

TurnkeyLinux appliance (https://www.turnkeylinux.org/zoneminder) on Proxmox Well, first off: Would it be possible - by any means - to pause the log??? Yea the log thing got worse on a recent update. I posted about it here. In my case it looked like new logs were coming in when in fact they were swi...

Re: why is zma running ? , nodect and no zones
Only thing I can think of is this settingAs far as I can tell, ZoneMinder is still doing some kind of processing on the video stream
Monitor -> source --> Source Tab
Save JPEGs -->Analysis images only (if available)
Video Writer  -->H264 Camera Passthrough

Re: [Netcat ONVIF] Can not stop while controlling PTZ - AutoStopTimeout doesn't work
EDIT2. reread your original post and you have set the autotimeout. maybe try a whole number '1' ? and dont hit zoom at all. once I got an error on my control script it wouldnt work at all till I restarted zoneminder. maybe the pan and tilt will work , until you hit zoom and your error is generated y...
