Indeed, the fixed factor of 8 is just a temporary hack. I should aim for a certain resolution (~100 each way), but I'd like to stick to powers of 2 for performance reasons and keep the aspect ratio. I guess most people, like me, have their cams mounted out of reach and pointing downwards.
