Re: Recover bricked ANPVIZ IPC-D250W-S camera

Yeah, very weird. But what if you did reset it it? Or what if it reset itself somehow? I'd try the search tool linked above to see if that can find it. I'm kind of under the impression that these tools use MACs rather than IP addresses so that they'll work even if there's a network/mask mismatch. I...

Re: Recover bricked ANPVIZ IPC-D250W-S camera

Shoot. I forgot that the default was 192.168.0.123... I used 192.168.1.x as an example. my home address subnet ranges are 173.xx.xx.xx/24. So I had given the camera an address of 173.10.10.12/24 with gw as 173.10.10.1 and dns 173.10.10.1+173.11.11.1. So it was 173.10.10.12 (I don't remember now if i...

Recover bricked ANPVIZ IPC-D250W-S camera

It's a long shot and they are less than $100 so I won't be upset if I need to toss it in the bin and buy a new camera. I don't know what happened... I rebooted the PoE switch and it didn't come back up/online. I had the camera set as a static IP in the camera's web gui config. I had it set as IP add...

Re: HDD/SSD Config for ZM with Object ID?

Booting from an SSD is the new standard and a traditional drive for storage of events It does depend on how many cameras you intend on running with your system. My Z400 runs 4 @ 1080p and only has a load of 3 out of 12. If you use a basic Ubuntu Server OS then you save cycles by not having to run t...

Re: HDD/SSD Config for ZM with Object ID?

Four cameras currently. We have two more cameras that are sitting in boxes waiting to be installed and we will not end up with more than eight (8) cameras total. We have a 10GbE network at the house and I'm building a new NAS/storage server. Should I keep everything in memory on the ZM machine and w...

HDD/SSD Config for ZM with Object ID?

Two days ago I bought a new Dell Precision Workstation to run ZM on. It's a brand new machine with a xeon cpu, 64gb ddr4 and a nvidia k620 gpu card. My goal for ZM is real-time object id and this machine is a blank slate. It currently has zero drives. What drives should I buy and what drive configur...

PoE Hardware in an Appliance Form Factor

I've been Googling for a while and haven't found much. I am looking for something like this https://shop.solid-run.com/product/SRGTRL8A11E-US/ that I can install ZM on. Hikvision also makes an "embedded Linux" PoE NVR that is priced in the $450-$500 range. The biggest thing I'm after is a ...

Re: How to deal with shadows of trees in the wind

Seems like there are lots of people in similar situations. I would like to explore using GPU and some open-AI engines to identify things --if I don't park my car in the same exact spot in the driveway... Or if she parks on "my side" or I park on "her side"... She's got a SUV and ...

Re: Help with sizing / settings

You have some options. Dell and HP make tower "workstations" that are essentially server motherboards and chipsets shoved into a large desktop form-factor machine. Regarding the noise: It's the size of the fan. The smaller the fan, the faster it needs to spin to move the same amount of air...

Re: ANPVIZ camera slow and losing time

Is the 30-45 second lag there if you watch it "independently of Zoneminder" (i.e. its own app, its own web-page, through VLC ...) ? Or is the lag being caused by Zoneminder settings, e.g. having accidentally set a frame rate in Zoneminder (should be blank!) which is not the same as the ca...

Re: Mixing Storage - Fast (SSD) and Slow (HDD)

Is there a public script available for this? I would like to initially write events to RAMDISK then upon event completion, move event to (slower) disk. Ubuntu and Debian flavors are ideal: Bus factor and all... I travel for work and might need something, could get hit by a bus, etc. and she's fine w...

Re: Which Linux distro should I use

For the most part, consider Ubuntu and Debian to be the same thing. Technically they are not at all the same and Ubuntu is based on Debian.

Whatever you do, choose LTS (long-term-support) versions with at least a first patch or update.

ANPVIZ camera slow and losing time

I have a Chinese POE dome camera that is slow and seems to be losing time. It is always on a 30-45-second delay or lag. We bought three or four of these cameras all at once and they were ALL fine... Then this specific camera we purchased a few months later. It is model IPC-D250W-S. Allegedly it shou...
