Re: Unable to create users

I'm running 1.32.2 on CentOS 7 here and can successfully create users, both by setting every field specifically and by leaving them at the defaults (apart from the password), so if it is a Zoneminder issue then it may well be something that changed between this version and 1.32.3.

there is no video file for this event at (/mnt/surveillance/zoneminder/3/2019-07-26/1223/1223-video.mp4
Does this file (and the directory) actually exist?

Code: Select all

ls -l /mnt/surveillance/zoneminder/3/2019-07-26/1223/1223-video.mp4

Re: Classic Skin/Storage

The output from ls -l is drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 26 04:07 zoneminder. This could be an ownership issue - That folder should belong to the www-data/apache user (depends on the distro). For CentOS and similar derivatives, try... chown -R apache:apache /mnt/surveillance/zoneminder For Ubuntu a...

Re: Classic Skin/Storage

Hello Clicking the 'classic' radio buttons for both skin and default css doesn't change anything. How can I get the classic skin back? You may also need to select them in the drop-downs on 'Options' -> 'Display' page. I also installed a new hard drive just for ZM. Under the storage link I put in th...

Re: Web browser and backup

I get this error. I enabled opt_use_auth and maybe it causes it. mysqldump: got error: 1698: “access denied for user ‘zoneuser’@‘localhost’” when trying to connect I get the same if I use the username and password from /etc/zm/zm.conf, but the credentials in /etc/zm/conf.d/db-user.conf work. 'OP_US...

Re: Web browser and backup

Is this really easiest way to backup db, just db not images etc? I'm not sure how to run this code. Maybe, but this will work... mysqldump -u zoneminder -p --opt zm > zoneminder_backup.sql Enter the zoneminder database user's password when prompted. To skip the prompt, such as for automated cron jo...

If you have values set for "Maximum FPS" and/or "Alarm Maximum FPS," try clearing them.

Re: H264 Pass through VS X264 Server Load

Surely decoding always happens anyway, passthrough or otherwise, so that the streams can be analysed for motion, etc.?

Decoding H264 is relatively cheap though - it's the encoding that's expensive, and passthrough avoids that step.

i did sudo chown -R 755 /media/3tb/zoneminder and restarted zoneminder and apache
Did you also try...

Code: Select all

sudo chmod 755 /media /media/3tb
It's the folders above zoneminder that need 755, not those under it, and I think the -R option works down from the specified folder, not up.

Re: Changing the port from 80

OK, it looks like ZM forces HTTPS after the initial connection, so you'll have to change the Listen port in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf. Use a different port to the one in httpd.conf. You'll also have to edit the <VirtualHost> line in ssl.conf and change the port number there as well. <VirtualHost _d...

Re: Changing the port from 80

On a stock CentOS/Apache installation you can edit /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and change the line that says "Listen 80" to the port you want.

For SSL, edit /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf

Restart the httpd service after the change.
