If you were to install completely new ZM system, which one do you choose between installing 4 analog camera with capture card or using 3 ip camera? what is the pro and cons?

I have used this script to create me an alert every time there is alarm, but i got the error message [can't get shared memory Id] everytime i changed the status of the monitor, do you know how to prevent that in this case?

I have just created my perl script and want to run it with crontab.
I have used how to run perl script through crontab?
/usr/bin/sudo -u apache myscript.pl ... but no luck ... it seems the procces is being run(ps -aux) but no result.
do you know any otherway to run the perl script?

Thank you Phil, I think i got it, you mean i just run that sample of code as deamon and then if there is alarm it will notify and run certain thing what i want it to run right? let me try first and i will get back to you.

Phil, My appology, correct me if i am wrong, I would like to have zm calling my shell script if there is alarm occured, Is it recommended to add my Shell execution line inside zm_monitor.cpp line 1105?(stability reason) like adding: system("myshellscript.sh"); or better put somewhere else ...

is that any different by using gigabit ethernet card while your connection to the camera is only megabyte? i am just currious becase my marvel failed to work too with asus motherboard. and i change to regular 3com ethernet. and i don't see any different after that, perhaps i just use 2 cameras? does...

Everytime i change the monitor function from monitor to Modect. i have to restart the ZM, in order for the monitor to be rungin as Modect? is that supposed to be like that?
