Hi, I am looking for an upgrade for Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I (one out of four has problems after 3 years). A good candidate is a Hikvision DS-2CD2086G2-I https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/acusense-series/ds-2cd2086g2-i-u-/ Has anybody experience with this cam? If not,...

zoneminder crashes frequently
Hi, since a few days, zoneminder crashes frequently (2-3 times/hour). The output of systemctrl status zoneminder is zoneminder.service - ZoneMinder CCTV recording and surveillance system Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/zoneminder.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: failed (Result: ...

Optimizing parameters
Hi, I would like to optimize zoneminder parameters. A nice approach would be to create a setup which records ideally all positives and many false positive. Then manually tagging the events as true or false positive. Then the parameter tuning can start: - For each parameter sets the events are reeval...

Re: Polygons must not intersect
Many thanks for your reply again.
I deleted the entire zone and recreated it, that solved the problem.
I also used "inactive" zones on top of a simpler "active" zone now.

Re: Polygons must not intersect
Maybe I should add that I had intersections before I edited the polygon, but if the error message refers to that it clearly comes to late, I just fixed an intersect issue in the the polygon edges.

Re: Polygons must not intersect
Many thanks for your quick reply.
I simplified the polygon now a lot(see attachment), but I still get the same error message.
Not sure if I fully understood your last comment: the thin slivers see light through the glas in the door, I want to cut that out to avoid false alarms.
Thanks
Rainer

Polygons must not intersect
Hi, I have a zoneminder instance running and when I try to edit a zone, I get an error message: polygons must not intersect They intersect indeed before editing, but after everything looks ok for me (see attachment). Has anybody an idea what is going wrong? zoneminder release: 1.30.4 Any idea on how...

Re: zonminder 1.30.4 on Debian Stretch (armhf) does not start anymore
Thanks for responding. chmod 740 /etc/zm/zm.conf does not make too much sense for me, I have 640 (which is the Debian default, I think). I must have had tomatoes on my eyes (I did not really understand that ENV(PATH) is my system path), the error message tells what is the problem. My /usr/local/bin ...

zonminder 1.30.4 on Debian Stretch (armhf) does not start anymore
Hello, since quite some time, my zoneminder (1.30.4) installation on Debian Stretch (9.3) does not start anymore. root@home:~# systemctl start zoneminder.service Job for zoneminder.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status zoneminder.service" ...

Grounding and lightning protection for outdoor cameras
Hi,
I am planning to mount an outdoor camera. I am wondering how you handle grounding and lightning protection for your outdoor cameras (and if you have any issues or even damages when you go without lightning protection or even grounding).
Many thanks
Rainer
