Re: zombie event?

This is apparently truly a bug. Deleting events is causing thousands of these errors in the logs. It seems like eventually they go away when things work correctly, but sometimes they persist and really fill up the logs. Im seeing it on both my 1.34.23 installs. It appears that hitting the delete but...

Re: Help with PTZ on Vstarcam_C24S.pm needs updating for 1.34.23

One more important point - understand that if you make any changes to code, and ZM gets updated, those changes will be overwritten. Its a good way to lose a bunch of work really quickly. How do I know? Yep, the hard way.

Re: Help with PTZ on Vstarcam_C24S.pm needs updating for 1.34.23

The control script is PERL scripting language. I am not able or competent to try to teach that language. I suggest taking the existing script and tinker with it to learn how it works, that what I did. Some insight may be helpful to that end: " my $cmd = "decoder_control.cgi?command=90&" . "${cmdext}...

Re: zombie event?

Something is trying to stream the event maybe an old bookmark or something that is pointing to the event instead of console This was the key. Restarting Apache stopped the barrage of log entries. Apparently Apache set a process in motion to view the event and it got hung. There might ought to be a ...

Re: Help with PTZ on Vstarcam_C24S.pm needs updating for 1.34.23

http://loginName:loginPassword@IP:PORT/decoder_control.cgi?command=xx This probably should be something like http://ipaddress:port/decoder_control.cgi?loginuse=xx&loginpas=xx&command=xx&onestep=x You should be able to fabricate that string, paste it into a browser URL bar, hit enter and see the cam...

Re: Help with PTZ on Vstarcam_C24S.pm needs updating for 1.34.23

You didnt post any logs, usually the logs will assist in this kind of troubleshooting. The PTZ scripts are fiddley - I have spent a LOT of time working on the Amcrest scripts. I had coded them so they worked push-to-pan/zoom and then they released a new version of ZM that broke that functionality. O...

Re: Need Hardware Advice

There needs to be some standard way of gauging CPU and NW load, perhaps there is and I just dont know about it. I have 3 ZM instances running, the most recent is 8 cameras on a 8 core I7 with 16GB RAM and the webmin load is showing between 10% and 20% CPU on that box. I expect it should support abou...

Sounds like you are deleting an in-process event.
Does not appear to be so. I seem to get it any time I delete an event via the view=event, regardless of whether the event is replaying or stopped.

Re: API call equivalent to zmpkg.pl status ? states.json bug?

A cURL call to "https://servername/zm/api/states/change/" . $runstate . ".json" works for me, after all the authentication and such. The value for $runstate must match a predefined runstate name. I dunno where/how I discovered this. I just looked through the API and it actually is not explicitly doc...

Re: Re-using cameras on existing NVR setup

I would get a PC, install wireshark, get a dumb switch, plug the camera CAT5 and the PC CAT5 into the dumb switch, fire up wireshark and see what the camera is saying. Its IP address should become readily apparent. Its probably trying to find a DHCP server to give it its address. I cant imagine its ...
