Re: Zoneminder and Camera on same VLAN or separate VLAN?

I didnt use VLAN, I used a dumb switch (hub) and a second NIC on the ZM box. With no packet forwarding between the NICs on the server, and the server doling out DHCP to the backside NIC (so I can add a new camera and have it work without fiddling with addresses) it works well. None of the cameras ar...

Amcrest API has lots of new features - people detection?

https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001080552-Amcrest-HTTP-API-SDK 2020 version has lots of interesting built-in functionality for counting people and various other cool stuff. My current Amcrest cameras don't support this, but if it can be used along with ZM to detect presence of peopl...

Re: Very pleased with ZM! But questions...

The zmninja appimage belongs on the target machine, not the ZM server right? ZMNinja is a smartphone app. Install it on your phone, then enter the credentials for access to the ZM server. 2. I'm a a loss for how to get PTZ going. Is there a Wiki or applet that I need? Its quite fidley because each ...

Re: flat css error

I believe I discovered the cause of this error. The "flat" CSS is read from a cookie. If you carry over a cookie from a previous version of ZM, you get this error, apparently there is some stuff in the cookie that wont work with the new version. Deleting all the cookies for the site eliminated the n...

Re: Monitor Garage Door

This is what you need: - A dedicated laptop, desktop, raspberry pi (or clone) or server. all need to be powered on 24/7. - A homeassistant installation that runs on the device (or any other. i use homeassistant because it's easy to instal) - A MQTT server (you can have homeassistant set that up for...

You need to select it in options -> Display
I have selected every possible alternative in the "display" window, saved, and restarted ZM. Error persists. Even rebooted the OS as well, same thing.

Re: API question

This all works by calling zmu in the backend so zmu logs may have more info. ZMU logs show "unable to authenticate user" Might have to do with auth settings, especially AUTH_RELAY. What is yours set to ? If plain, then you may have to put stateful=1 in subsequent commands as well. Which is a bit we...

API question

I have a script which worked well with 1.30 but wont work with 1.34, so I am trying to rewrite it to make it work with the new version. Very simple, log in, set alarm, sleep, unset alarm, logout. So here's the script (minus some of the surrounding code that's not relevant): curl -d "username=[userna...

upgrade instructions

Currently running 1.30.0 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Finally, have some time when ZM is not critical, so its time to upgrade. 1.30.0 has been, for me, extremely reliable, but all things must pass. Where are the upgrade instructions for 1.30-1.34 ? Any risks or things I should be aware of? (BTW, searching f...
