HIKVision dome IR LED reflections

I've been using Foscam 9805 cameras for a number of years on my house but recently started switching a couple of cameras to HIKVision 4mp dome cameras but I have noticed that at night I appear to be getting a reflection of the IR LED's into the lens and it's washing out the image pretty severely. I ...

All events except archive gone

I've got an install of ZM that has been working well for a couple of years and then this morning I noticed it has lost all events except those that are archived and it does not appear to be recording new events. I've tried rebooting and it still does not seem to be working right. All cameras are onl...

Re: Video corrupt but stills viewable

I decided to keep mine on remote for now, I tried switching back to ffmpeg and the utilization went up higher, so for now I'm keeping with remote until it's completely gone. It works very well for me, zero complaints.

Re: Video corrupt but stills viewable

But I just read that the 'remote' is no longer being maintained so I guess I need to get away from using that, I was under the mistaken impression that was the best way to connect to these cameras.

Re: Identical machines - different CPU usage

I wouldn't be surprised if Foscam has something mislabeled in their bandwidth selection, I've seen other quirky things with their cameras.

Re: Video corrupt but stills viewable

I'm using 'remote' as the source type with RTP/RTSP. If I go through the stills the first still appears smeared, then the rest are good.

Video corrupt but stills viewable

I was curious what happens / causes an event to have a corrupt video but if you click on stills it appears the images are present and viewable?

Is it something corrupt in the SQL DB?

Re: Identical machines - different CPU usage

Well after learning about iftop I've been playing with the settings and found a video combination of using the variable bit rate and a different bandwidth setting which has reduced the processor utilization so I think this has resolved my issue.

Re: Identical machines - different CPU usage

They're both Foscam cameras, 9805's and 9853's. The 9805 (960 resolution) are showing about 265kb The 9853 (720 resolution) are showing about 426 - 448kb Backwards from what you would expect. Yet all four cameras are set to 256kbps with VBR turned off. Zoneminder is set to Remote mode vs FFMPG mode ...

Re: Identical machines - different CPU usage

Ok I have to make a correction, I forgot at one location two of the cameras are 720 x 1280 vs 960 x 1280. I have determined by turning on and off the cameras in Zoneminder that the 720 x 1280 cameras are using about twice the utilization of the 960 x 1280 cameras. In theory shouldn't a lower resolut...

Re: Identical machines - different CPU usage

Hmmm I will check the BIOS but I tried swapping the motherboard and it made no difference.

Monitor and camera settings are all identical, Foscam cameras, 5 frames per second, 10 frame key interval. I'll have to double check the bit rate and see if there is any difference there.

Identical machines - different CPU usage

I have three Zoneminder setups, all are running on identical HP DC7700 CMT's, both with 4 GB of ram, all running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, all are on 4.4.0-57 kernel x86/64 All are using Foscam FI9805 cameras running 1.4.10 / 2.14.1.119 (4 per system) However, on two machines the CPU utilization is down a...

I finally got it, I didn't realize I needed to incorporate the php changes from GitHub, I thought it was just the lines listed on the forum, my mistake.

Re: Editing Zones

Well I tried a reboot to no avail, I'm unsure of what I'm missing.
