Re: [Guide] How to toggle ZoneMinder's Run State (home/away) based on your location using IFTTT on Android/iPhone
Hi CV8R, The good news is I'm pretty sure it can be done. One general basic way I can think of is to just modify this script so that: 1. It adds an additional parameter like 'ID' where when called from EGIGeo each person passes their unique ID (1, 2, 3, etc). 2. Then something like a server variable...

Re: [Guide] How to toggle ZoneMinder's Run State (home/away) based on your location using IFTTT on Android/iPhone
Old topic but I just wanted to say thanks for your work and also report on a few things I found when trying this. 1. The script works well for me but takes about 20 seconds to complete so as a result I found the IFTTT maker would always end up skipped due to timeout. 2. IFTTT is also a little quirky...

Re: SOLVED: API/cake issues: Error: ZoneminderController could not be found.
Well that was easy. using "http://mylocaliphere/zm/api" works fine. Zmninja wizard also now completes successfully. Solved.

SOLVED: API/cake issues: Error: ZoneminderController could not be found.
Hello I'm using the zoneminder package from Arch Linux AUR. v1.30 Everything else appears to be working however when trying to get the api working upon going to the "http://mylocaliphere/zoneminder/api/" url I get the following: "Missing Controller Error: ZoneminderController could no...

Yeah there probably needs to be warnings about this more in the documentation. A lot of sources are saying to use the 'now' value and that sends all past events as well potentially flooding an email server and basically becoming a DoS attack!

Re: Accessing ZM from the web
EDIT: ah, I see you are using virtualhosts and things like proxypass. I can't help you much there unfortunately.
When you get the 404 where is it looking? That might be the key to figuring it out. Check your apache error log as it might give you a hint.

Re: IFTTT or geofencing options
This one? https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23026&p=87483&hilit=bluetooth#p87483 That's awesome but still kind of a kludgey hack. Proper IFTTT support would be awesome as would say Wink or Smartthings support. I know these are probably quite pie-in-the-sky right now as d...

Re: Accessing ZM from the web
As bbunge suggests it looks like you need to port forward port 80 external to local port 80 on the server running zoneminder. I've done this with no problems. I even tested it on my mobile phone (using the 4g lte and not my local wifi) and it works great. I also suggest DDNS if you do not have a sta...

Re: silly question
You should be able to just use the web interface? That is what I use to view everything. It isn't limited only to the computer you are running zoneminder on unless that is how you configured your network. In fact by default I believe it runs over your regular webserver on port 80 so if you forward p...

Re: Wow. Just handed over two DVDs with captured events to help solve a fatal accident
Well the video ended up being on the news and was released by police. They found the perp after all. It probably wasn't due to my footage although I think I helped them a bit identify the color and it will probably be played at the trial. I'd give a link to the footage but in the police report they ...

Wow. Just handed over two DVDs with captured events to help solve a fatal accident
There was a fatal accident on my street recently and I am ashamed to say I slept through it and didn't even discover it until 36 hours later when talking to a neighbor. Upon doing so I immediately checked my security camera which I have out the front window and sure enough it looks like I captured b...

Re: MODECT not picking up properly
Try setting the various parameters as low as is reasonable then slowly work up to eliminate false alarms yet still get what you seek. With a high resolution camera changing to pixels as opposed to percentage might make tuning for smaller objects easier. Either way it will almost always take some tun...

Expand play sound on alarm capabilities (WEB_SOUND_ON_ALARM)
The WEB_SOUND_ON_ALARM capability where Zoneminder plays a user specified alarm is extremely useful for some implementations. I myself use it especially for a back door where I cannot hear anything normally late at night in the bedroom. I turn on this alarm sound and it will sound waking me up if sa...

Re: web alarm sound
I figured I would add some help about this as I just struggled through it. 1. Click view source in the browser you are using. 2. do a search for the sound file you think it should be. 3. Click or copy and past the url to the sound file and verify that it doesn't come up as 404 or forbidden, etc. If ...

Re: [?] Brightness spike with Logitech C310
I don't have that camera but could you use the settings in the zone to set maximums so radical changes don't trigger an alarm. See https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Defining_Zones#Min.2FMax_Alarmed_Area Check the various "maximum" settings as well as perhaps " Overload Frame Ignore Count&qu...
