At what fps are your cameras streaming by the way?
I understand that running zm on a headless server would increase cpu performance, but with my current setup, I need it as a client also.

The trick is to use secondary MJPEG streams from each camera (low resolution--320x140, 160x120, etc) at low frame rates (6-7 fps) to perform motion detection, and then record the high-res main streams only when motion is detected on the low-resolution monitors by linking them.
