Re: Why is my IP permanently banned?

In the past we have banned IP subnets that were generating excessive spam postings, so it was not your IP specifically but someone on that subnet. But it was a very wide ban for that particular example. I have removed blocking for desert internets entire subnet now, please try again.

Re: day/night IP bandwidth load

Yes sorry was referring to the spammer, should have been clearer, was on my phone and doing it quickly. Just wanted to leave something so you knew I deleted him and his post. On topic yes the data stream is what the camera controls, CPU is probably zm coping with that increase in data. But it is int...

Re: Ubuntu 18.04: MySQL or MariaDB for Zoneminder

Don't think it makes much of a difference at the moment, I think most head towards MariaDB, but that could be more a philosophy choice that features.

Re: No video after upgrade-solved

FYI 1.32.x is still the stable release https://launchpad.net/~iconnor/+archive/ubuntu/zoneminder-1.32 1.33 is development version which will result in next release at 1.34, so you will be on the bleeding edge, it works but may see more bugs as we are actively working on this and you have taken a poi...

Re: RSS Feed for Forum

There is some weird server config in the backend that in the past meant the server admin had to address the issues with links that should just work not. I will see if we can get fixed.

Re: No image in Monitor #2249

Melting or smeared image is often caused by ffmpeg and UDP buffer issues, easy option is to try tcp option for the camera. Assuming you are using ffmpeg monitor. I hear people have better luck with newer ffmpeg, but cannot confirm that myself. Zms error is interesting and pretty rare, in the setting...

Same problem each time. After a period of time ZM corrupts and the VM is toast.
Wouldn't happen to be recording and the period of time be long enough to fill your drive?

I run zm as VM in ESX 6.5 without issues, using StorageAreas to provide disk from another VM.

Re: ZM 1.30.4 API issue on ubuntu 17.10

Nope issues with getting a new PPA for 17.10, version related and Iconnor is a little busy. Revert to bbunge workaround using 17.04

Re: ZM 1.30.4 API issue on ubuntu 17.10

Bbunge,
Caught iconnor today and he had time to spin up a 17.10 PPA now to hopefully save you some steps.
Thanks iconnor.

EDIT might still need the vlc package, need to check when I get home as Iconnor said he had issues with it building.

Re: storing and viewving storaged h.264 video

1. Possible yes, but I would not advise it as any issue in stream during record will leave you with a bad mp4.
2. Videos are passed into an mp4 container making them viewable with anything, in console we use html5 video tag.

Re: ZM 1.30.4 API issue on ubuntu 17.10

I believe you will be missing the crud plugin from /api/app/plugin it is a specific version of friendsofcake crud. Best bet would be clone zm, init submodules and get the folder.
Or iconnor ppa which won’t be missing critical components.
