Re: NAS Storage
I can write/save files onto the drive. Permissions on the folder in the nas are set to drwx--- Files browser gives me a location as: /run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=dlbox.local,share=volume_1/zm SMB -- can cause trouble because the underlying file system/protocol mangles permissions in a very ...

Re: Error writing packet: Invalid argument
I see this all the time with cameras with a bad clock. When ntp syncs the clock jumps back in time. "pkt.dts(2270423)" on *every* packet. "Non increasing dts" -- that's very accurate statement. It doesn't seem to have jumped back, it looks like the clock (well, the thing driving...

Re: video error
Hi guys, If anyone can help, I have ZM v1.36.33, and Modect sometimes saves fake events. It happens on all my cameras. I have attached a sample snapshoot. TNX Hi, Search the forum for posts with the keywords "streaking, smearing, blurring" etc. as this is related to corrupted video stream...

Re: Time Zone used in Event List
My only comment is that I've been using ZM for quite a while now, and not come across this problem. All of my events have a timestamp in the event list of "local time". As you say, that make sense from a human-interaction perspective. I'm in the UK so system is set up for "Europe/Lond...

Re: Cameras not on the same IP range than ZoneMinder server
Hello, For practical reasons I need to have my cameras and my ZoneMinder server not in the same IP range. Cameras are in : 192.168.169.xxx ZomeMinder is in : 10.0.10.xxx Of course there is a bridge between those two network but when i try to use the ONVIF fonction to scan the network for cameras it...

Re: 4XX Client Error, but not one of 40 Xiaomi Communications
I wonder if this Nedis / Xiaomi Communications / WIFICO20CWT is possible one to get working? Two sites of other software say to use this source: rtsp://user%40mail.com:pass@192.168.0.104:8554/Streaming/Channels/101 I'm just getting: "4/20/24, 11:50:39 AM GMT+3",zmc_m1,,78959,ERR,"Fai...

Re: 1.37.57: Unable to connect IP camera as monitor
(reolink) PoE "injector" that sits between the camera and the host? i've assumed it is doing nothing other than adding the power lead, but...? If you can safely open and look inside the PoE injector, you could find out! ;) On one hand, common sense says it's either a "ghetto" in...

Re: 1.37.57: Unable to connect IP camera as monitor
What's odd is that reolink puts some effort into describing use of RTSP, connecting with VLC, ONVIF, ... That's great. But if there are no ports open on the device, and no clue how to wake up the device, then that's not helpful :( Probably their official app does some kind of initial handshake. You...

Re: 1.37.57: Unable to connect IP camera as monitor
What are your current favorite ZM brands? I'm behind the times on these things. My cameras are D-Link, but old. They "support" browsers that understand the camera downloading some Active-X player thing (!) to see the live view. I ignore that totally and go to http://camera/video.cgi and a...

Re: 1.37.57: Unable to connect IP camera as monitor
Sorry to tell you that we only support the Windows and Mac Client currently. So we do not know how to and can not connect the cameras to your Linux system. Typical support response. In effect, they don't know anything beyond their scripted answers to typical user failures. You said the word "L...

Re: Zoneminder 1.36 daylight saving time
Changing the time in Ubuntu and then through the Zoneminder web interface worked perfectly. Thank you. Good to hear. Timezone changes are always a bit of a nuisance! UTC has the advantage of logs etc. always increasing in time, whereas a missing hour (spring) and a duplicate hour (autumn) can cause...

Re: Zoneminder 1.36 daylight saving time
Current time settings: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS: time system using UTC, currently 1 hour behind UK BST (DST) Zoneminder 1.36.33: time within Options > System > TIMEZONE set to 'Unset- use value in php.ini', and time within the log system display indicates UTC. My gut reaction is the two lines above are the...

Re: Fix STOPPED state after reboot
You're right. We probably ought to have the "right" instructions pinned somewhere, so when the question comes up we can just tell them where to look. OR, maybe a new "New to Zoneminder? Install tips." or similar would be where to put it. That is the most practical answer ... my ...
