Yes, all you can get through apt-get is 1.23.3. However, I know you can cross compile the latest version of zm, but I have not done that. All you have to do is: (1) boot the plug and configure networking - I assume this is already done. (2) % apt-get zoneminder. When I did #2, I got a dpkg error on ...

I have zoneminder working on the plug. Still testing performance but it looks pretty good. Some good soul (thanks good soul!) already compiled version ZM 1.23.3, so I did not have to do much except apt-get install zoneminder it fails a couple of times, but apt-get -f install zoneminder + apt-get upg...

Got my Plug, I plugged it into my network, and it got DHCP address. I can telnet to it as root. Question: The documentation seems written by developers for other developers. Unfortunately I am not one, so can some tell me why: (1) I need the hyperterminal/minicom stuff for when I have a telnet/ssh c...

newvisionantenna:

I think your solution is probably better - I just personally don't understand it. The sheevaplug+zm solution seems more straightforward.

Low Cost Wireless IP Camera

Is Low Cost Wireless IP Camera a triple oxy-moron?

Any recommendations (that work with zm) will be appreciated.

BTW: I just got my sheevaplug - the packaging is very cute - I am impressed.

Once I get zm working on it, I will post the steps here.

Thanks

punk_ecas: Yes, I am on Sprint EVDO. Sprint Coverage tends to be spotty, but where there is good signal, the EVDO is very usable with zm. Kevin: Yes, it is not actually streaming - it is a snapshot every second, but I think it is still useful for many applications since it captures a whole range of ...

zm on mobile devices

I have been looking for this info for a long time, and now that I found an acceptablyworking config, I like to share it: on windows mobile 6.1, you can get zm very close to streaming using the following settings: -use iris browser - remove cambozola -set update on low BW to 1 sec - so we are not rea...

I also ordered one and will get it this week.

Will post how if it works.

For one of these plugs, I am looking at supporting just 3 cameras.

sheevaplug zm

Did you get this working with ZM?

If so, can you share documentation/how-to/use case scenario (or we just have to re-invent the wheel :(

Thanks

Commercial Opportunity

My company is looking seriously into expanding to video security - we do application security now (several possibilities). We have a biz dev/marketing team we can leverage, but we are light on technicals. So I am looking for collaborators of all types - essentially the areas we interested in are: -m...

Thanks.

Let me know if you can get a full blown zm running on it (and what the config and performance is).

Re: cannot start zm

Had the same or similar issue. Tried the suggestions here without any change, but zmupdate.pl -f resolved the issue. -S Any tips? Yup.. Apparently for some stupid reason any given ubuntu install may or may not (??) have /usr/local/lib included in /etc/ld.so.conf so try this --- $ cat /etc/ld.so.conf...

and the OS would be installed in the USB? Hah cool. The plug computer should definitely be able to run an instance of ZM since it is 1.2Ghz. Only 512MB of RAM though so might have to use nmap mode instead of shared memory for the monitors. I will do lots of testing once I get my dev unit. One thing ...

Streaming on Opera Mini or Streaming Media (HTC) not working

Thanks for the info. My Media Player supports 3gp, and I already have 3gp as one of the options listed for ffmpeg formats (ZM_FFMPEG_FORMATS). According to your email, this should just give me an option to download events, but does not allow me to use live streaming since that is not supported by ZM...

Streaming on Opera Mini or Streaming Media (HTC) not working

I am using panasonic BL-c131a. I am able to stream using a full blown browser (IE and Mozilla), but when I use my mobile device (ie or opera mini), it does not stream or even refresh. I have tried several things (all on latest 1.24 version): (1) There is a post saying you may get mobile streaming us...
