I don't think that there is a max value by the software. It's your hardware / processor power which will restrict the amount of cams.

Hi, I've installed zoneminder 1.23.2 for a month and it works quite well. I've connected four IP cams which results in heavy load on the P4-2.66. The only thing where I'm unsatisfied with is modect. Although there still is a person in the view, zoneminder closes the picture and goes on a minute late...

Which hardware do you use for the zoneminder server?

I'm planning to replace our old dallmeier with 18 analog cams and add 4 wlan cams.

I think the most important is:

What you want to do is set your limit field to 5 or 10 and make sure the sorting is on event id or data/time in ascending order. That way event will be deleted slowly instead of having all your events purged.

Do you have enough shared memory? Did you lower buffer size?

Meanwhile I have a WCS-1090 for testing and it works fine zoneminder.

does anybody know if this camera Level One WCS 2070 http://global.level1.com/products2.php?Id=818 working with ZoneMinder?

MJPEG/MPEG4 video compression is available, but in Wiki's hardware section it's written that not each MJPEG feeds are supported.
